Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Mohammad Alhasson ("we", "us"), the developer of Moonjelly (the "App"). By downloading or using the App you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
This agreement is between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its contents.
What Moonjelly Is
Moonjelly is a music player for Jellyfin, the free software media system. It requires a Jellyfin server that you provide, run, and control. We do not host media, we do not supply a server, and we do not provide any music, lyrics, or artwork ourselves. Moonjelly is not a streaming service.
Moonjelly is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Jellyfin project or its contributors. "Jellyfin" is used only to describe what the App is compatible with.
Your Server and Your Media
You are solely responsible for your Jellyfin server, its configuration and security, and for the media it contains — including having the legal right to store, play, and access that media in your jurisdiction. Moonjelly plays what your server offers it; it does not verify ownership or licensing of any file.
You are also responsible for your own credentials. Keep your server address, username, and password to yourself, and keep your device secured.
License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store's Usage Rules, including Family Sharing where applicable. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
Acceptable Use
Do not use the App to break the law, to access servers or accounts you are not authorized to use, or to interfere with the App, the services it connects to, or anyone else's use of them. Do not use the App to distribute media you have no right to distribute.
Moonjelly Pro, Purchases, and Renewals
Core playback — browsing, search, favorites, CarPlay, the sleep timer, and a limited number of offline tracks — is free. Moonjelly Pro unlocks the additional features described in the App and on the App Store listing.
- Subscription: offered monthly or yearly. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Lifetime unlock: a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It does not renew and is not charged again.
- Prices are shown in your local currency in the App and on the App Store before you buy, and may differ by storefront. We may change prices for future purchases and renewal periods, with notice where required by law.
- Managing and cancelling: manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings on your device. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's terms, not by us. Requests go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
If your Pro entitlement lapses, the App keeps working: your settings are preserved, but Pro-only features fall back to their free equivalents until you subscribe again or buy the lifetime unlock.
Third-Party Services
Some features rely on services outside our control, each governed by its own terms:
- Your Jellyfin server — configured and operated by you.
- LRCLIB — an optional community lyrics database, used only when your server has no lyrics for a track. Lyrics come from its contributors, so accuracy, timing, and availability are not guaranteed.
- Apple — the App Store, in-app purchases, and iCloud/CloudKit sync.
- RevenueCat — purchase validation and entitlement management.
These services may change or shut down at any time, which may make the features that depend on them unavailable. What data flows to each of them is described in our Privacy Policy.
Support and Updates
We are solely responsible for any maintenance and support for the App; Apple has no obligation to provide either. Support is available by email at apps@mkhasson97.com. We may add, change, or remove features in future versions, and we may stop updating the App at any time. Continued availability of any particular feature is not guaranteed.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will work with every Jellyfin server version or configuration, or that downloads, playback, lyrics, or statistics will always be accurate or complete.
If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App if applicable. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, including media, downloads, listening statistics, or server configuration. Keep your own backups of anything you care about. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the App and its in-app purchases in the twelve months before the claim. This does not limit liability for death, personal injury, intent, or gross negligence where applicable law forbids such a limit.
Data and Privacy
We do not collect your personal data. What the App stores and what it sends where is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Legal Compliance
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You agree to comply with all applicable third-party terms when using the App.
Apple as Third-Party Beneficiary
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability, legal or regulatory non-compliance, or consumer protection claims, and is not responsible for investigating or resolving third-party intellectual property claims relating to the App.
Termination
These Terms apply until terminated. They end if you stop using and delete the App, or if you breach them. Sections on disclaimers, liability, and governing law survive termination.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date, and continuing to use the App after that means you accept them.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [[JURISDICTION — REPLACE BEFORE PUBLISHING]], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and nothing here deprives you of the right to bring proceedings there.
